Dan Janowick

Village Trustee

A proud Winfield resident since 2011, Dan Janowick is committed to building a strong, connected community through involvement and leadership. As a nonprofit CEO, he brings extensive experience in fostering partnerships, creating long-term vision, and working collaboratively with a board of trustees—skills that make him a strong and effective Village Trustee.

Dan earned his degree in Recreation and Tourism Administration from Western Illinois University—where, more importantly, he met his wife, Amanda. His career in nonprofit leadership has spanned multiple roles, and he currently serves as CEO of a DuPage-area nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and communities through equitable mental health services, recreation programs, and the arts.

Dan’s deep commitment to Winfield is reflected in his service. He was elected as a Winfield Park District Commissioner in 2015 and 2019, serving as Board Vice President, before being elected Village Trustee in 2021. Over the years, he has actively contributed to local organizations, including:

  • Coaching for multiple WIA and Winfield Park District teams
  • Volunteering with School District 34 PTO and serving as a parent representative on the strategic planning committee
  • Co-chairing the successful D34 Referendum Committee
  • Leading as a Den Leader for Pack 575
  • Serving as Chair of the Board for the Hinsdale Chamber of Commerce
  • Proudly participating as a Rotary Club member

Dan and his wife, a Winfield native, chose to raise their two sons here because of the town’s close-knit, engaged community. They believe Winfield is not only a hidden gem to live and raise a family today but also has great potential for the future with thoughtful development of town center, the Roosevelt Road corridor, and through collaborative community events.

Over the past four years, Dan has been part of a Village Board that has worked together to shape a strong vision for Winfield’s future—investing in community events, town center development, public safety, and overall quality of life, all while prioritizing transparency and fiscal responsibility. He looks forward to continuing this progress and ensuring Winfield remains a place where families and businesses can thrive.
